(February 26, 2021) You may remember him as a semifinalist in season sixteen of the US version of The Voice, and now Houston native Shawn Sounds is a vocalist ready to break forward with his solo career. With that in mind and February being a month of love, Shawn is ready to share his vision and insight on it with the release of his debut single, “Sunshine.”
On this melodic mid-tempo cut that was released on Valentine’s Day, Shawn sings about the feelings he has for the one he loves. It also serves as a dedication for those who want to declare their love for that special someone. As he sings lyrics such as “baby you are, you set the bar, who needs the fame ’cause you’re my superstar” against a breezy guitar driven arrangement, it is clear that Shawn is confidently placing himself as a trusted voice on love in R&B circles.
