(July 1, 2019) Sharon Rae North is a talented songstress who has straddled the line between straight ahead jazz and urban adult contemporary for years, always seeming to hit just the right spot with her performances.
Sharon had a hit a couple years ago with the album Sincerely Yours, helmed by the ubiquitous R&B and jazz producer Chris “Big Dog” Davis (Maysa, Phil Perry). And she and Big Dog have reunited for a brand new single that again brings in elements of both genres. Even better, “Moments” also brings in legendary saxman Marion Meadows to duet with Sharon, creating a supple, sexy number that should please Sharon’s existing fans and bring in a few more, too.
Sharon tells us, “When Big Dog sent me the music and told me his vision for it, I knew I wanted to co-write the lyrics and sing it. It’s beautiful and it tells a lot about love and human emotion. Having Marion Meadows on it is icing on the cake. He added another whole dimension and layer to what was already a great song.”
