(September 22, 2022) We’ve been following soul and jazz singer Sharon Rae North for a few years now. The talented songstress has always been a great interpreter of soul and jazz classics, and she continues that string with her newest single.

“Heart of Mine” was a moderate hit for Boz Scaggs in 1987 and then again for its songwriter, Bobby Caldwell, a few years later. Now Sharon teams with noted producer Paul Brown to bring bring a new version of the song.

With direct aim at the Smooth Jazz and Adult Soul audiences, the new “Heart of Mine” is relatively faithful to the original, but with an stronger acoustic feel that both softens the edges and allows Sharon’s smooth vocals to take center stage. It’s a nice introduction to her latest album, Silhouette.

Check out “Heart of Mine,” and welcome Sharon Rae North back to SoulTracks.
