First Listen: Shardella Sessions wants “Everything”

(February 24, 2021) It might not be that much of an industry secret anymore, but in case you missed it: the future of R&B is female. 2020 proved to be quite a remarkable year for female talent in the world of R&B (e.g. H.E.R., Jhené Aiko, SZA, Kehlani, SZA, Chloe x Halle), and this year is already shaping up to be a repeat performance. Already on the short list of vibrant new releases, Shardella Sessions drops “Everything,” a mellow slow jam oozing with sexy come-hither commands. There’s definitely a H.E.R. and Summer Walker love-struck quality here, but the rhythmic vibes and Sessions’ sultry delivery feels like a wild expedition into Aaliyah soul.

Like her previously released singles (“It’s On Me”, “For Me (Or Nahh)”), “Everything” continues Sessions’ inroads into 21st century Quiet Storm, a lane that suits her well.

SoulTrackers, check it out and let us know if you’re feeling “everything” about Sessions’ new single.
