(May 4, 2018) The life of the artist known as Sagé has undergone a change since the last time listeners heard from her. That would have been in 2015 when she released her project Situationship under the name Shonta Renee. Since then, she not only changed her performance name, but she created an independent label called creHEARTive Music.
A sage is defined as a person venerated for their possession of wisdom, judgement and experience, and the artist known as Sagé drops some hard-earned knowledge on her latest single and video, “Mirror Mirror.”
A personal crisis born of insecurity that had Sagé questioning her worth, led to the creation of “Mirror Mirror” in 2015, which ironically is when the singer/songwriter released the highly regarded album Situationship. That confident work belied a person who, like so many of us, was beset with self-doubt.
“I was manifesting into my life experience thoughts, feelings, and things that weren’t healthy or made me happy and until I centered myself and connected to my inner source, things weren’t going to get any better. I had to come to the realization that I am the creator of my reality…”
