First Listen: Ryan Shaw is back singing about his “Woman”

SoulTrackers know that we’ve been big fans of Ryan Shaw since he broke out a few years ago.  His version of “I Am Your Man” is still on repeat on my iPod seven years after its release. He’s spent the interim years racking up Grammy nominations for his old school sounds and expressive, often mesmerizing vocals, and portraying Stevie Wonder in Broadway’s Motown: The Musical.

Well, Ryan is finishing up some new music with longtime collaborators Jimmy Bralower and Johnny Gale, and he’s leading it off with a tribute to a woman who stands by him through the smooth and the rough. It has a driving rhythm section and a fantastic vocal performance. It is available now at iTunes and should be available elsewhere this week. Check out “What A Woman” below, and tell us what you think.
