(March 19, 2023) It’s been more than 10 years since the release of Reel People’s last album. That wait will end later this spring when the ensemble drops Love2 later this spring. They’ve given us a funky preview with the release of the lead single “Everything’s So Crazy,” a tune that features the vocals of Jill Rock Jones.
The song’s title and world view are something that a lot of us can understand. In fact, we’ve probably uttered the words in the title at least once over the last four years. Propelled by a percolating, mid-tempo deep funk bass line and Jill Rock Jones’ soulful and expressive vocal, “Everything’s So Crazy” gives voice to those of us who wake up every day and must do battle with all the unfairness that we face every day.
“Everything’s So Crazy” is a strong introduction to a project that sports a wealth of vocal talent. In addition to Jill Rock Jones, Love2 features contributions from Raheem DeVaughan, Chantae Cann, Eric Roberson and Speech from Arrested Development. We can’t wait to hear the entire project but enjoy Jill Rock Jones on the very funky “Everything’s So Crazy.”
