(March 22, 2020) The gospel-seasoned voice of Ray Dalton is particularly familiar to the masses for powering up Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’s certified 6x-platinum single “Can’t Hold Us.” It soared to number one on several Billboard charts, including the Hot 100, and has been heard in a wide range of environments, including TV commercials (Microsoft Outlook, ESPN College GameDay), and even has the golden distinction of being the most streamed song of 2013 on Spotify.
Dalton’s back at it with a new single, “In My Bones,” a powerful rock-pop anthem walking the lines of gospel and soul. The music marinates the guitar plucks and drum pounds of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” into a sea of rapturous gospel vibes and soul-searching lyrics about persevering and survival (“Ain’t nobody gonna talk me down, ain’t nobody gonna hold me now/I got a feeling in my bones, never touch the ground”).
And in these uncertain times, Dalton’s single feels timely and essential. “In My Bones” is just the tip of the iceberg for new content as a debut album, slated for release from Epic Records, is in the works.
