First Listen: Raja-Nee returns to “Get This Love”

raja-nee

(April 15, 2021) Once signed to Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis’s Perspective Records, Raja-Nee made inroads to urban radio with the 1994 club-powered “Turn It Up. Thanks to landing a spot on the motion picture soundtrack of the Keenan Ivory Wayans comedy/action film, A Low Down Dirty Shame, the song soared into the Top 40 on the R&B charts. But shortly after, the label suddenly shuttered and Raja-Nee faded into the background. Now almost three decades later, Raja-Nee’ is ending her long sabbatical from music and returning with a new album, the much anticipated follow-up to her debut LP Hot & Ready.

And for her first attempt at a comeback, Raja-Nee drops “Come Get This Love” on our ears. It’s a titillating ballad highlighted with exquisite soulful musicianship from John “The Saint” Morris and Wilfred “Nenja” Frelixher, and cozied perfectly with amorous vocals from the Chicago-based songstress. It’s so easy to fall in love with this rapturous throwback to ‘90’s neo-soul and dreamy Aaliyah R&B.

Check it out and let us know if you’re gonna come get this love from Raja-Nee’s newest single in the comments section.
