(June 26, 2021) Imagine going to an anniversary party for a husband and wife celebrating decades of married life together. You expect to hear a few guests perform musical selections to honor the celebratory couple. But instead, the wedded pair – both of whom can sing – belt out a song of gratitude to each other for the lasting love they share. What song could fit such a tender moment?
Well, that kind of beautiful new song is our latest First Listen: “Happy Anniversary,” performed by Phillip Ingram & Eloise Laws. The vocalists – both of whom come from musical families but have established careers individually – blend together harmoniously on this song about love that has staying power. The chorus goes: “Happy anniversary; thanks for loving me. Thanks for every minute of bliss. / Happy anniversary; with you I wanna always be. It just doesn’t get any better than this.“
According to Mr. Ingram, this duet was recorded in 2015 but he recently shared it with his fans online and it is being received quite well. “Happy Anniversary” is a perfect song for summertime, which is not only the season for new nuptials but also for anniversaries. Even if you’re not celebrating one, you can just enjoy being serenaded by these two great singers.
