(May 16, 2020) She is certainly a music legend, first as a jazz singer in the 70s, then as part of the talented stable of performers who worked with Quincy Jones in the 80s, and as a performer who has continuously issued top tier, thoughtful music over the past several decades. Patti Austin is just that kind of artist.
Over the past few years, Patti has released a series of uplifting songs designed to address issues of the day. And this week she released one that hits a button now with what the world is facing. “We’re All In This Together” has been a concert staple for Austin for several years, but she worked with her friends over a few weeks recently to put together a studio version.
