(July 8, 2018) It was very early on in the history of SoulTracks that we met Dessy DiLauro and her husband Ric’key Pageot. We’ve followed them through Dessy’s solo career as well as their work with Madonna and other artists. And more recently we’ve seen their development as a top notch duo called Parlor Social, with their own sound that that call Neo Ragtime.
The newest PS song is an upbeat number that mixes the ragtime feel with a more soulful arrangement and performance. “Got the Heebie Jeebies” is all fun, and the duo’s performance certainly got us smiling. Ric’key calls it “a speakeasy-soul, southern BBQ cook out, hip hop twang.”
