The group has gotten love from outlets ranging from Paste to NPR for their tasty brand of pop/soul, and they’re likely to get more with the September 27 release of the new EP, Like Candy. The band, consisting of Cameron Kinghorn (Vocals), Adam Meckler (Trumpet), Scott Agster (Trombone), Kevin Gastonguay (Keyboards), Andrew Foreman (Bass) and Reid Kennedy (Drums), makes an effort to bridge the classic music they love with their modern sensibilities, and it all works in a way that should attract multiple generations to their sound.
The title track from the upcoming CD features a bouncy piano opening before breaking into fuller, horn-filled sound and understated vocals. The infectious track sounds like Kenny Loggins meets Tower of Power meets Vulfpeck, and that’s a pretty good combination in our book.
