We introduced SoulTrackers to singer and songwriter Nichelle Colvin last year, and the reception she received was strong. Nichelle is a storyteller, and readers certainly responded to her honest assessments of life and love, and took her album into our top 10 for three months.
Now Nichelle is back with a new EP that has a theme that will be familiar to many in the Midwestern US. The Gary, Indiana native has dedicated The Miller Beach Project to the people of Gary and Northwest Indiana. She along with producers of SofoReal Productions make a lovely project that emphasizes the beauty surrounding the beach areas.
We’re highlighting one of the attractive songs, from the album, “Lakeshore Breeze.” Nichelle tells us that “Lakeshore Breeze” is about Summer time love, but is interpreted into a beach language. The emotions and feelings that she receives from her new love brings her so much joy that she interprets it as a Lakeshore Breeze: it’s cool, refreshing and relaxing. He comes to her in a time when her relationships have given her nothing but heat and frustration. Producer and Saxophonist Slick Sax delivers the feelings she expresses from her new love.
