(September 14, 2022) Over the past few years, SoulTrackers have received a steady dose of Nia Simmons via her guest work with such artists as Bey Bright and Christian de Mesones. But as Summer 2022 comes to an end, Nia is putting herself back up front as a headline artist, with her brand new single “Feeling Fine.”
Working with SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Award winner Kendall Duffie (one-half of the duo Kloud 9), Nia delivers a cool midtempo that feels like it could have been pulled from a late 70s Roy Ayers collection. With drums and keyboards taking the lead in the light arrangement – with an earworm sweetness that is a signature of Duffie’s production work — “Feeling Fine” straddles the line between jazz and soul, giving a fine backdrop for Nia to deliver her divine vocals.
