(March 11, 2024) Michelle David got her start singing in the church when she was only four-years-old and was singing in a group a year later. That is why the sound of both soul music and gospel music come natural to her.
David also made a career in musical theater, starring in shows such as “Mama,” “The Sound of Motown” and “Glory of Gospel.” David possesses that power-packed sound that allows her to proclaim the good news of the gospel and while also declaring to her man, with equal passion, that he’s all she needs to get by.
Michelle David now works has the voice of the act Michelle David & the True Tones, a band that puts their right now stamp on soul and gospel. The band does that by wrapping funk arrangements around David’s soulful delivery of a gospel message.
That sound works on the band’s latest release “Brothers and Sisters.” David comes with a plea for love and understanding that is needed right now. Meanwhile, her band fits right in behind her with a foot stomping instrumentation that features kicking drums and a soulful guitar that would sound right at home on a Virginia beach. Well, you can go to church on a beach, and Michelle David & The True Tones take us there on “Brothers and Sisters.”
