World Premiere Exclusive: Meli’sa Morgan Feels “So Good” on Classy New Dance Song

melisamorgan2015

Boasting a catalog filled with compelling ballads such as “Love Changes,” “Do Me Baby,” and “Do You Still Love Me,” the velvet-voiced Meli’sa Morgan isn’t often thought of by soul fans as a dance floor chanteuse. However, it was, in fact, via the 1981 disco-funk gem, “Keep in Touch (Body to Body)” (recorded with studio outfit Shades of Love), that the Queens native got her professional start. After making a bold comeback in 2010 as featured vocalist and songwriter on Cool Million’s “Sweet Baby,” the multi-faceted performer is taking the groove to the next level on “So Good,” a vibrant, pulsating disco/R&B nugget produced by prolific house DJ Lenny Fontana.

“So Good” is the first single release on the newly reformed RFC/Fresh Records, which brought audiences classic jams like Janice McClain’s “Smack Dab in the Middle” and Suzy Q’s “Get On Up and Do It Again” in the late 1970s and early ‘80s. Says Meli’sa of her new effort, “This is the first song in a long time I loved so much that I wanted to put it under the Meli’sa Morgan brand. It’s what I call a female version of ‘Uptown Funk.’ I wanted a powerful track that my vocals could dance and move around the chords to with ease. Lenny gave me the type of track that got my vocal affectations excited. This is the real me now, and I hope that my loyal fans (and hopefully, new ones!) will enjoy the song as much as I enjoyed singing it.”

Take a listen to the World Premiere First Listen of “So Good” below, and let us know how it makes you feel! The single will be released on November 9.
