(March 30, 2025) Maysa Leak and Bobby Lyle have both crafted legendary careers that are known for the quality work they released as lead artists, as well as the people with whom they collaborated.
Maysa sang with Stevie Wonder as a part of his backing vocalists Wonderlove. Her sultry vocals helped define the Incognito sound for many years. Lyle toured with Young-Holt Unlimited and Sly & the Family Stone, just to name a few.
So, it’s not surprising that super producer Shaun LaBelle paired Maysa and Lyle for the Latin tinged tune “Mon Cher Amour.” That track is the follow up to “Your Love Kept Calling My Name,” a duet featuring Maysa and Stokley, who has crafted a distinguished solo career post Mint Condition.
“Mon Cher Amour” is an energetic love song that swings with a lush arrangement that features Lyle’s creative solo, tight horns, a funk infused bass line and a story of two people expressing total devotion to each other. And if you listen, you can hear Stokley helping out again. Check it out here.
