(August 30, 2016) A breakup, a downsizing, another brutal schedule with too much to do and not enough time or sanity in which to do it in: who among us hasn’t felt overwhelmed by the heaviness of life and wanted to crawl into a corner to forget it all?
That’s where singer, songwriter and guitarist Maya Elizabeth was, mentally and emotionally, when she penned this gentle soul-replenishing ode, “Come Ye.” A gospel mission statement with an acoustic edge, “Come Ye” sings of offering divine assurance and a motherly love to the stressed and the suffering: thanks to its contemporary vibe and Maya’s supple croon, even the non-denominational who encounter this groove can relate to its message: “I will be your protection from the enemy… I will snatch you up and hold you when you’re falling fast.”
Needing a breather from the drama, a calming voice in the midst of madness? Maya Elizabeth’s got a song for that. Like to hear it? Here it goes…..
