First Listen: Manny X plays “Cat & Mouse”

(December 19, 2016) If half of achievement is simply believing you can do it, Manny X is already ahead of the game: the winner out of over 4,000 contestants in Guitar Center’s 2012 “Your Next Record” contest and selected by Grammy-Award-winning rapper and producer, T-Pain, Manny X’s sound is part R&B, part pop and fuel-injected with swag. He’s already tasted success on the R&B charts with his 2013 T-Pain-featuring debut single, “In Front of You,” and has a full-length release, #XCAPISM, on the way. A quick taste of it has already emerged thanks to his high-octane single, “Cat & Mouse.”

Brimming with the brash confidence of a certified playa, the uptempo “Cat & Mouse” has a party-it-up Bruno Mars-esque vibe and tells an intended ‘target’ that when his mission is a woman, he always gets the job done: “I’m a hunter baby, I always get my prey…So if you’re in my line of sight, call it a day / I ain’t a player girl, I just crush a lot…but when I do play the field, I’m a juggernaut.” Modern and retro all at once, “Cat & Mouse” will echo in your head long after the download fades out and stokes the interest for whatever else Manny X can bring to the turntable…..and everywhere in-between.
