(November 8, 2024) One of the hottest places to experience R&B, soul, and hip-hop at its finest is Atlanta, with an abundance of clubs to seek out long standing local acts, such as Londee the Artist. And every time she hits the stage, one can find this Texas born vocalist and her band The ATL Connection cranking out back in the day jams from Chaka (Khan) to Tina (Turner), alongside other concert appearances with Howard Hewitt and Raheem DeVaughn.
Off stage, Londee the Artist has released several singles and a debut E.P., I’m a Lady (2013), that made noise on the UK Soul Charts for almost half a year. Besides her impassionate stage presence, Londee the Artist demonstrates intuitive songwriting – illustrating how genuine love wins out on “Before, The Remix” featuring Chris ‘Big Dog’ Davis and “Smile,” where the heartbroken can move forward from a past relationship with grace.
For her first spotlight on SoulTracks, Londee the Artist sings about “The One,” co-written by singer/songwriter Kreion and produced by Jerome Bewery. The atmosphere is crafted with a subtly funky guitar lick that gently melts into a dreamy soundtrack of strings, electric piano, and fluid backing voices steadily framing Londee’s lead.
The storyline focuses on all the traits of a ‘Mr. Right’ who touches a genuine happy soul: “Tells me that I’m his girl/ Takes me all around/Sharing me with his friends down with me/Thru thick and thin.” Almost a decade after her recording debut, Londee the Artist is scheduled to finally release her first full-length, Patterns of Love in 2024. For now, check out “The One.”
