December 5, 2017 — The gifted singer and actress LeToya Luckett should need little introduction. Both as a member of Destiny’s Child and as a solo artist, she has delivered many beloved hits for R&B fans. It’s hard to believe it’s been 8 years since her last solo outing, Lady Love, which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, but we’re happy to report that she’s back and in great voice.
Luckett released earlier this year her third solo album, Back 2 Life, which is an engaging collection of silky-smooth, well-produced tracks that highlight a new maturity in Luckett’s vocals and songwriting. We feature here her most recent single, “In The Name,” which to this writer’s ear is simply among the best R&B ballads of the year. Her mellifluous soprano will slay you. Enjoy.
