HBO is now featuring the documentary The Apollo, about the famed theater, and the soundtrack for the feature is just as impressive. It features performances by such notables as Gladys Knight and the Pips, James Brown and Aretha Franklin. And it also includes a new song by modern music royalty Robert Glasper and Ledisi. An big, emotional ballad, it is the synthesis of two artists at the peak of their game.
