(February 10, 2022) While they are music veterans, it has only been for a couple of years that soul music fans around the world have gotten to know Detroit-based Laura Rain and the Caesars. The band — Laura Rain (vocals), George Friend (guitar), Jim Alfredson (keyboards) and Jeff Powe (bass and drums) – has made the pandemic a lot easier for us with a string of hit singles that harken back to the sound of the 60s and 70s, but featuring new material and hot arrangements.
The band’s newest single brings us to the dance floor with a vibe that is, somehow, a blend that recalls disparate artists from Chic to Prince to The Hues Corporation. “I’m Yours” is a smoking cut that goes in directions not hinted at in the group’s prior singles. It is also another sneak peek at the much anticipated album Rise Again that is due in April.
