First Listen: LaTocha of Xscape is going through “Love Changes”

(March 18, 2025) Two years after releasing her debut gospel album, LaTocha – who rose to fame as part of the multi-platinum selling group Xscape – is back with new R&B material.

Last month, she participated in the “Residuals” challenge, singing an original verse to Chris Brown’s #1 hit of the same name.  In her verse, LaTocha addressed discord between her and her husband, sister, and group, which struck a chord with her fans and musical peers alike.

That verse was a teaser, so to speak, but LaTocha’s supporters can rejoice because she has a new single out called “Love Changes.”  It’s not a cover of the Mother’s Finest classic but an original song that addresses what love can put you through in a contemporary R&B, radio-friendly manner.

LaTocha says her new song is “a reflection of the ups and downs we all experience in relationships” and is “about those moments when love transforms—sometimes for the better, sometimes in ways we don’t expect.” She adds: “I poured my heart into this song, and I hope it resonates with everyone who has ever gone through love’s transitions.”

You hear LaTocha’s heart within the melody as she sings lyrics like:

“You don’t know the way I feel, trying to make sense of it all
Even though my body’s here, baby, my mind is gone”

She delivers the song with authenticity because of the changes she’s been through; if you’ve been through something similar, you will understand.  Check out “Love Changes” below.
