First Listen: LaRombé takes us on the “Ultimate” Classic Soul romp

larombe

Philly native LaRombé now lives in Los Angeles, and he mixes the sounds of his two home cities to create a new styly he calls “PhilaFornia Soul”  This singer, songwriter, producer was signed to his first record deal by the legendary Curtis Mayfield. And he received honors for collaborating on Keb Mo’s Grammy Award winning Keep It Simple CD.

His latest venture, Bunnys Boy, is a family affair. It features his father, late jazz drummer Bunny “the beat” Baker, on the cover along with his baby boy. A song from the album that has caught our attention is the classic soul ballad, “The Ultimate.” It has elements of jazz and soul and a feel of a song that soul radio should love. Says LaRombé about the song: “Its what every woman wants to hear from her special man.”

We think SoulTrackers will really like what LaRombé is offering. So take a listen to “The Ultimate Below” and tell us what you think!
