First Listen: Newcomer Larissa Dubois finds out that Words are “No Good”

larissadubois

We’ve just been introduced to new singer Larissa Dubois, and she has skills that remind us of some of the great female singers of the past two decades.

Born and raised in Clearwater, Florida, Larissa relocated to Los Angeles California in 2014 to pursue her singing career. The opportunity came when she met writing duo Davion Farris and Sia Amun (the Pensouls), who penned the song “All We Do” for R&B artist Trey Songz. Says Larissa, “I’ve always had a passion for R&B/Soul music since I was a young girl.  So it was important to me to work with a team that understood my love of R&B music from the 90’s and soul classics from Aretha Franklin, Mary J Blige and Toni Braxton.  The collaboration of vocals, lyrics and instrumentals are very evident of the style of music I grow up listening to.”

Larissa’s first single, “Words No Good,” (from her debut album This Is Love) is a solid introduction that reminds us a bit of classic Mary J. Blige. Larissa tells us, “’Words No Good’ is that song you want to listen to when you’re ready to let go of a relationship built on broken promises, and knowing when it’s time to let go.”

Take a listen to “Words No Good” below and tell us what you think of this new singer.
