April 21, 2020 — There are any number of ways a great vocalist can entrance you. Some do it with their power alone; others with their phrasing and use of dynamics; and still others capture you with the warmth of their tone and timbre, which they change in subtle ways in service of the song. The singer/songwriter Kiana Ledé falls decidedly in the latter category. Her mellifluous, comforting and honeyed voice makes you stop and listen.
We feature here Kiana’s new track, “Protection,” from her newly-released album Kiki. It’s a lovely mid-tempo ballad that soothes and satisfies. Enjoy.
