(November 29, 2018) He’s the ultimate confident salesman representing old school R&B romance in all its glory. Keith Sweat has been pitching his hardcore bump and grind jams for years, and has kept his fans craving for even more of the smooth sexy. And Sweat’s firm musical stance has generated him kudos on the R&B charts with several number one charted hits since the mid-eighties, topped off with a Soul Train Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013. Now for the latest installment of First Listen and the second track from Sweat’s latest CD, Playing for Keeps (the previous First Listen being “Boomerang”), “All About You” is all about Keith Sweat and his juicy R&B brand of love in a duet setting.
Adding to his ever increasing list of artists who have joined in Sweat in those shear ecstasy moments, from Kut Klose to Keyshia Cole, “All About You” showcases newcomer Aniyah Simone. While this may not be as captivating as “Make It Last Forever” and “Nobody,” “All About You” soars on a much better duet plan than “Boomerang” (with Candice Price), as Simone takes full charge from her first note, going toe to toe with Sweat’s urgent vocals. One absolute is that no matter what Sweat puts down on wax, he knows his own artistic zone and he knows what his fans have been raving about for years.
