(July 21, 2019) More than a decade ago, we fell in love with the music of producer, songwriter and guitarist supreme, Juewett Bostick, who won us over with the fantastic album, It’s Not So Easy. And it was on that album that we also fell hard for singer Denise Stewart, who wrapped her soulful voice around a cool updating of the classic “You Go To My Head.”
Well, that dynamic duo has teamed again on Juewett’s newest album (and our Album of the Month), the enjoyable, ambitious Shades of Blu. And they hit the ground running with the album’s first single, “Sound & Rhythm (Prelude),” a number that combines funk, jazz and R&B into a stew that will reel you in to wanting to hear more of Juewett’s SoulJazz style, which he describes as “an earthy, bluesy melodic concept with dance-like rhythms.”
We can describe this music in a lot of ways, but they’re all good. And “Sound & Rhythm” is now climbing the charts all over the world. It’s our newest SoulTracks First Listen. Check it out below and tell us what you think!
