(January 20, 2020) Over the past year, SoulTrackers have gotten to know the music of musician and talkbox aficionado Swatkins. And increasingly we’re hearing him on the releases of other artists. The newest is from Vancouver producer Jonny Tobin, a jammin’ midtempo that also features beat maker AstroLogical and gritty Australian singer Meiwa.
The international affair is the first single from Tobin’s upcoming EP Weekends (being released on the Dutch label Wicked Wax), and should get a warm reception from fans of funk groups from Funkadelic to Zapp, who will enjoy is funk/soul/jazz/hip-hop weave. And it is just the kind of song to get you going on a Monday morning.
