First Listen: Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes’ Jerry Cummings sings for a “Woman”

(June 9, 2017) – A couple of months ago we reintroduced SoulTrackers to Jerry Cummings, known to the world as part of the legendary 70s soul group, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes.  These days, Jerry works with younger artists as a “music and life coach,” and remains active in the music world; and the April release of his single “It’s My Pleasure” sparked renewed interest in Jerry the singer.

Jerry is now releasing another single. He wrote “What A Woman” back in 1982, but it was only in the last few years that he came to Detroit to record the vocal track. Longtime Philadelphia International engineer Craig White then took it and turned it into something special. The final version definitely has the rich PIR groove, but also has the vibe of some of the latter day Chi-Lites songs. But whether it sounds more Philly or Chicago, it sounds dancealiciously great.

Check out “What A Woman” and welcome back Jerry Cummings…again!
