Jennifer Holliday became a star for her portrayal of Effie in the original Broadway run of Dreamgirls and she had a solid recording career for over a decade afterwards. But it has been too long since we’ve heard new music from this talented singer.
Jennifer returns in January on Shanachie Records with the brand new album, The Song Is You. It’s an album of lush remakes of standards as well as some new material. We’ve just heard our first sneak peek of music from the album, in the form of the brand new single, “Touch.” It is a great introduction to what promises to be a great album, and we can’t wait to hear more.
