First Listen: Jekalyn Carr delivers another “Love”-ly gem

jekalyncarr

(February 18, 2018) She is barely into her twenties, yet gospel singer Jekalyn Carr possesses an incredible maturity in leading others to worship through her voice and her ministry — gifts that motivate Christians to take faith more seriously.  Uplifting tracks such as “Greater is Coming” and the Grammy nominated “You’re Bigger,” backed with her public speaking skills, have earned high honors from Ebony and Jet Magazines.

Carr’s illustrious career is also tracked during the documentary, Rejoice and Shout, an intense history of gospel and the musical impact of highly seasoned gospel legends like Andrae Crouch and Kirk Franklin. Her achievements are impressive, as are her three full-lengths for the independent Lunjeal Music Group in just five years.

Her upcoming release and fourth CD, One Nation Under God, features the first single, “You Will Win” and our First Listen focus, “I Love The Way You Love Me.”  While not groundbreaking in style, Carr convincingly conveys an urgency about how God’s lays down His life for His friends, sans the vocal hysterics, but with the utmost confidence in how a music minister gets their point across.
