First Listen: Heather Victoria warms us with “Sunbeams”

(October 1, 2019) North Carolina native Heather Victoria is no stranger to the music business. Having collaborated with such notables as David Banner and Jadakiss, she has been making name for herself with fellow artists for a few years now.

It’s been eight years since Heather released her album, Hip Hop Soul Lives, and she getting ready for a big return with her new disc Boutique Hotel. Her preview song, “Japan,” turned some heads and now she’s issuing a second single and bringing along Raheem DeVaughn for the ride.

“Sunbeams” is a beat-driven midtempo number that highlights Heather’s strong vocal presence. It is an interesting mix of acid jazz and hip-hop that works quite well, and makes us anticipate the upcoming album even more.
