(May 18, 2025) It’s been a while: you gave it your best shot, but now you’ve past the point of no return and you’re ready to throw in the towel. Love is always complicated but once it turns toxic, it’s time to make moves, and that’s what British R&B crooner Harry Linacre is describing in his latest single and percolating neo-soul recalling kiss-off, “Ring The Bell.”
There’s a reason his nimble delivery grabs you from the get: the 20-something former BRIT school student honed his chops in various bands and cruises that criss-crossed America, earning fans in multiple continents. His musical idols Michael Jackson, Usher and D’Angelo are heavy influences, and there’s definitely an undercurrent of swagger when he levels his imminent ex with a challenge about the reasons for their demise: “What’s it gonna be, will you run and hide/stand up to the truth or/stay in bed with lies?”
Already a staple on BBC Radio with hundreds of thousands of fans, Harry’s “Ring” is an infectious introduction to his catalog if you’re not familiar, and reinforcement of his talents being anything but something you want to walk away from. The end of a relationship usually isn’t a cause for celebration, but skills like Linacre’s to encapsulate those feelings certainly are.
