Music’s 21st Century evolution has resulted in certain changes that previously seemed impossible. One of these changes is the virtual elimination of groups within the R&B/soul circles. Individuality has ruled in this current era.
One entity that is looking to bring the group concept back in focus is Groove Stu. A five member band that is focused on live instrumentation and collaboration, Groove Stu has shared stages with iconic groups such as Boyz II Men and Mint Condition and has been performing for over twenty years.
The group’s newest single is “Team Us,” which further emphasizes the collective over the individual. On this uptrnpo track, band members Omar Sharif & Tiffany Countess trade leads while discussing the importance of a couple staying united and driven towards the same goals. Guest rapper Javier Starks also hammers the team concept by adding his verses that speak to how successful relationships can be with both parties being on the same page.
With a full album set for a release later this fall, Groove Stu is primed to lead a potential band rebirth with their latest single. “Team Us” celebrates what can be won by joining forces romantically, while also illustrating the greatness that can occur when artists join forces musically
