First Listen: Newcomer Devin Morrison gives a sweet intro on “With You”

(May 7, 2019) One of the treats of being publisher of SoulTracks is getting the chance to hear new artists who haven’t yet broken out, and bringing them to our readers. That’s my pleasure tonight with Orlando, Florida singer and songwriter Devin Morrison.

I first heard of Devin recently, as he released his debut album Bussin. As I learned, if anyone from Florida tells you that something is “Bussin,” it simply means that it’s tasty. And the first cut we heard from the album is indeed quite tasty.

A duet with L.A. singer Joyce Wrice, “With You,” is a cool 90s style soul jam, with just a touch of Stevie Wonder chord progressions mixed in for fun. The song is a sweet midtempo that will simply make you smile in its unabashed joy and the nice interplay between the two singers.

We’re proud to introduce SoulTrackers to Devin Morrison. Check out “With You” below, and tell us what you think.
