If you’ve been to a corporate event, wedding, or cruise recently, it’s quite possible that you’ve heard the vocal stylings of De’Sean Ricardo.

The New York-based singer, musician, and actor – who is an alumnus of the prestigious Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, DC – has performed all over the world for various audiences with his electrifying stage presence, singing anything from rock to R&B.  De’Sean also comes from music royalty; his grandfather Sonny Til was lead singer of The Orioles, a Maryland-based act that’s generally recognized as R&B’s first vocal group, having rose to fame in the late 1940’s.  (De’Sean portrayed his grandfather in the 2015 musical Soul Harmony.)

De’Sean’s newest release, “Give Me Love,” shows that he is a dynamite singer in his own right.  The single is a feel-good track with throwback soul overtones.  Explaining his inspiration for it, De’Sean wrote: “I created this song to bring you guys into my world as a corporate/wedding singer. These past couple of years have been a journey for sure. From the constant traveling to learning A LOT of music, I’ve met so many dope musicians and sang for many brides, grooms, and wedding parties. Witnessing all of that love and being surrounded by so much love from both you guys, my friends and family, it was hard not to write this one.”

He also added that this release is the start of a new chapter in his life wherein he’s going to focus more on his own artistry.  If this an indication of De’Sean’s musical direction, we like where he’s headed!
