(September 3, 2016) We recently discovered Dallas singer and songwriter Deon Q, and that was a good day for us. Deon definitely has a classic soul and jazz element to her music, and the two styles meld nicely, giving her music a sense of groove that is understated yet irresistible.
Deon’s debut single, “It’s a Good Day,” is a great showcase to her skills, and it is made all the better by the production of Grammy winner Madukwu Chinwah. As Deon tells us, “The overarching theme of ‘It’s a Good Day’ is taking a moment to enjoy every aspect of the day.” She accomplishes that and more, giving us an auspicious first impression through a song that works great.
