(March 22, 2023) For a half century, R&B fans around the world have enjoyed the scorching funk and smooth nightime jams of ConFunkShun. And this classic band is showing no signs of slowing down in 2023.
ConFunkShun is readying the upcoming Summer release, Smooth Jukebox, fresh off the massive buzz that the band received last year when modern hitmakers Silk Sonic covered the classic slow jam “Love’s Train.” And ConFunkShun leads off the new album with another smooth love song, “Text Me Tomorrow.”
Opening softly with an acoustic guitar, “Text Me Tomorrow” builds to a sharp tale of a man who is trying to get his woman off her cell phone and an back into their romance. With an invitation to keeping love fresh and putting away all of the electronics that divert lovers’ attention, it is a song with which an awful lot of people can relate. And ConFunkShun simply sounds great.
