(June 9, 2019) In 2016, Christos Tambouratzis won the Bronze medal award at the Global Music Awards competition for his work on Symmetry of Mind. Two years later, the Greek born guitarist/composer/producer released Cargo, which was the time that SoulTrackers were introduced to this veteran musician through our First Listen of the enticing soul/pop gem, “Love’s Got Me.” A musician who has primarily lived and worked in Greece throughout his whole career, Tambouratzis is no late bloomer to the industry. Throughout the years of adapting to multiple genres – whether funk, fusion jazz, soul or rock – he has shown his versatility and has finally been rewarded with acclaim on an international level.
A little less than a year removed from “Love’s Got Me,” we present a second go-round for Tambouratzis with his latest track, “Do It,” a preview of his upcoming self-released CD, The Other Side of My Soul. Taking the vocal spotlight in this mid-tempo funk/soul burner is Vicky Bee, whose husky voice hugs the sexy and the joy towards an exclusive lover. As Tambouratzis’ electric guitar cradles the musical atmosphere within “Do It,” his long-time touring band holds down simple, yet steady organic grooves. “Do It” locks in more of an urban flavor than “Love’s Got Me,” again showing Tambouratzis’ overall strengths as a musician, no matter what he crafts or the notes he plays.
