(July 26, 2019) A lot of fans of 90s R&B probably had a crush on Chante Moore at one time or another. The talented songstress burst onto the scene with a string of hits and stunning looks; and most of all an angelic voice that could hit notes well into Minnie Riperton-land.
Though she recorded fairly infrequently over the years, Chante continued to deliver the goods, even winning Female Vocalist of the Year in the 2013 SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Awards.
The past few seasons have been more difficult, as Ms. Moore has issued a number of unsatisfying singles and an EP that seemed to be chasing trends. But that string ends with her brand new single, “Fresh Love,” a cool ballad about new love, accompanied by an equally sunny video. No word yet on whether this song is part of a bigger project.
