Calvin Richardson has been a soul music favorite for a decade now and is a past SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Award winner for Best Male Vocalist. So you know we like to follow what he’s up to. Last year Calvin signed with the new Primary Wave label and he recently issued the hit album, I Am Calvin. The disc has already spawned two hits, “We Gon’ Love Tonight” and “Hearsay,” and continues to grow in popularity.
Calvin has been everywhere in this whirlwind 2015. In February, he performed a tribute to the Isley Brothers at the Trumpet Awards along with Ruben Studdard and Dave Hollister. His haunting song “Dark Side of Love” was featured on the smash hit TV Series, Empire, and his cut “Before This Moment Leaves” was featured on the VH1 series, Love & Hip Hop NY.
