70s hitmaking group Brick returns with surprise new single

brick-drivecrazy

(June 21, 2023) “Crazy,” the new song by Jimmy Brown and funk legends Brick is an upbeat dance number that fuses a bit of 1970s classic Brick horn play, with the sleek, synthy funk of the 1980s and contemporary R&B touches in the form of autotune vocals.

“Crazy” finds Brown using his rich and husky baritone and the technology to wax rhapsodic about a woman, and the impact that her presence has on his mental state. Brown lets us know he’s singing about a good kind of crazy, but he would have to be stone out of his mind to let her go.

With funky bangers like “Dazz,” “Dusic,” “Ain’t Gonna Hurt Nobody” and “Push, Push,” Brick’s music has been a part of summertime cookout soundtracks since they emerged on the scene in the mid-1970s with their unique mixture of funk and jazz improvisations. The band seeks to keep the party going with “Crazy.” Check it out here.
