SoulTrackers have gotten to know Detroit drummer and producer Brandon Williams well over the past year. His debut album, XII, won our Publisher’s Choice as Album of the Year, and we featured a number of great songs from that album as First Listens.
Brandon is back with a new song he wrote with Marcus Mims that has a different feel. Performing with singer Anesha, he delivers a cut that has an electronic opening and more rock in its R&B roll. But as always, it is infectious and well delivered. Brandon tells us about it: “While it’s not a song that that people would expect from me, I really want the world to know that I’m a student of all music and when it comes to music production, I don’t live in boxes. Actually… there are no boxes!! I love, pop, jazz, R&B, classical, gospel and pretty much everything else.”
