(November 25, 2021) We’re still scratching our heads here on how we didn’t know about talented Detroit songstress Beth Griffith-Manley, who performs as Beth, until earlier this year, when we heard her participation in the Soul School compilation. Since the mid 00’s, Beth has made an increasingly strong mark in music, working with such notable artists as gospel singer Yolanda Adams and the late Ali Woodson. She also toured for a half decade with the legendary Anita Baker and has been a longtime touring partner with R&B star KEM. She also issued an excellent 2017 solo EP Free, featuring the dramatic single, “Love Hurts.”
The daughter of Motown Funk Brother Johnny Griffith, and a former The Voice contestant (John Legend and Kelly Clarkson were her coaches), Beth has been touring this year as a guest vocalist with Najee. But, as a treat for her growing fanbase, she has taken the time to release a new single in time for the holidays.
“Celebrate” is a joyous reflection on some of the best elements of the Christmas season. With a Gospel-flavored call and response vocal arrangement, the song, produced by Marcus Devine (Faith, Charlie Wilson) shows off Beth’s powerful vocals and is absolutely smile inducing. It’s a great way to start a holiday weekend.
Check out “Celebrate,” and keep your eye out for this rising vocal star.
