(July 16, 2024) The country of Nigeria in West Africa is surrounded by the songs of gospel as a few artists are embracing success outside their homeland. Almost a decade ago, Funmilayo Ngozi’s soul/jazz love of Jesus was featured on First Listen and Sinach achieved worldwide acclaim with the praise and worship standard, “Waymaker.” Today, SoulTracks introduces the Dallas, Texas-based, Osun State Nigeria-born Aremmic, a singer/songwriter/worship leader who developed his vocal skills under his father’s choral directing and through his several years in the college choir. Recently, Aremmic self-released work includes innovative approaches on classic contemporary favorites such as the Hillsong Worship favorite, “Cornerstone” and his collaborations as a song leader can be experienced through his music series entitled Gathered Worship.
For Aremmic’s first appearance on First Listen, “Echoes of Love” radiates how love can conquer our doubts. This original piece examines Aremmic’s faith pointing to an unconditional love – thanks to the strength in redemption and forgiveness. He further explains: “God’s love for us is like an echo that never fades.”
The soundtrack thrives on a symphony of acoustic piano and subtle keyboards. For the performance video, filmed in Lagos, Nigeria, director Gorilla Boy (Burna Boy) shapes a story integrating poignant dance, celebrating eternal love. Thank you, Aremmic, for delivering a hearty message from your homeland to the U.S. Take a listen to “Echoes of Love.”
