(July 12, 2019) If you get two powerhouse voices together, you can usually expect that something special will come out of it. We wouldn’t have thought of the combination of legendary vocalists Angie Stone and Jaheim, but now that we’ve heard it it seems like the most natural pairing in the world.
With a brand new single from Angie’s equally new album, Full Circle, Ms. Stone and Mr. Hoagland sing a powerful duet about the sad break-up of a couple…and the question of whether either of them has the courage to actually leave — perhaps there’s really still love there? The two stars’ voice blend well and give the song ummph, transcending the somewhat tinny arrangement.
It’s a solid ballad and a great showcase for two fantastic vocalists. Check out “Gonna Have To Be You” below and tell us what you think.
