(August 3, 2022) Angel Sessions new song “Wait For Me” would have been right at home on a 1980s Quiet Storm radio station. And while “Wait For Me” is a breezy, mid-tempo R&B love song, the tune’s theme of being patient in a relationship and respecting people’s boundaries are messages Sessions could just as easily sing to her gospel music fans.

Sessions had a highly regarded career as a gospel artist and although she sings secular R&B these days, a tune like “Wait For Me” shows that Sessions still possesses a strong spiritual base. Sessions’ vocal prowess is another recurring theme in all her work. She is an artist brings range and control to a song and those qualities also make her an excellent musical storyteller.

The single finds Sessions using voice and lyric to paint a musical picture in the minds of her listeners. Sessions adopts a conversational tone as she lets her man know that she views respect for her reluctance to be rushed or pressured as key foundations to a strong and enduring relationship.
